The name of Hemera is rarely spoken loudly in myth—she is neither a warrior nor a seductress, yet her unseen arrival sets the rhythm of the universe. In the Greek cosmogony of Hesiod, she is the goddess of daylight, born of the primordial powers Nyx (Night) and Erebus (Darkness), and sister to radiant Aether.

Hemera and Nyx are never present together; as one ascends, the other descends into darkness, maintaining the eternal balance. Their silent exchange governs the world, ensuring that day and night flow without chaos or collision.
